Telzhopedia - A Search Engine

The home screen/initial screen when visiting the search engine
I had the amazing opportunity to work on this project with a small startup business called Platinovida.
As a hired UI/UX designer I started by creating the wireframe of the website on paper that was used to guide me through the actual design which I did on Figma. The design is a clickable prototype that can help you navigate through the different pages created.

Where is all started: Africa as a continent depends on the west so much on technology as well as applications and websites. Everything Africans use on the internet is developed outside of Africa. After the realization of such the company (Platinovida) wanted to create a well thought search engine for students and any user that wishes to accumulate knowledge through different types of sources.

Process: To better understand how search engines work I have done research on all the available search engines out there and how they function and the look of it. With all the research done and a list of what the company wanted on the search engine. I was able to design the look and feel of the search engine.
With research done, what was obvious to most is that google is the leading search engine and one of the reasons for their success is the constant update to their user experience on their engine and the look and feel of it. Another reason would be how easy it is to get the exact information a user was able to get after one search.
Things we considered Telzhopedia will have:
➢ An easy way to get different types of citations
➢ A button to show the summary of the text
➢ User is able to sort their search alphabetically, date, and etc. ➢ Showing the source type and publication date on the card
At the end of it all I was able to design my 1st ever website and the company was pleased with it.
